‘A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child (OCC)’.
This is OCC’s campaign which is an initiative of Samaritan’s Purse UK, a Christian relief and development charity working amongst communities in need across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Sadly, the number of participants has significantly been dropped this year due to some reasons. The main reason could be that making a shoebox or shoeboxes becomes more expensive than it used to be. In addition to, the OCC asks the giver to pay a minimum of £3 ‘shipping’ donation per shoebox which covers UK transportation, overseas shipping and promotion, with any surplus going to the work of Samaritan’s Purse.
Yet, here we are and pray that we can do more year by year.
